A BILL to amend article two, chapter twenty-four of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section
nineteen, relating to authorizing the public service
commission to create a study task force.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article two, chapter twenty-four of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section
nineteen, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 2. POWERS AND DUTIES OF PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION.
§24-2-19. Authority to create a study task force.
The commission shall have the authority, by its own initiative or by request of the joint committee on government and finance, to
appoint a study task force to study impending problems or issues.
In the event a study task force is created, the study task force
shall make a report to the Legislature on the first day of the
session immediately following the appointment of the study task
force.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to give the Public Service
Commission the authority to create a study task force.
