A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §61-1-10, relating to prohibiting the establishment of a constitution or legal system superior or parallel to the West Virginia Constitution and the West Virginia Code; and providing a criminal penalty.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:


ARTICLE 1. CRIMES AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT.


§61-1-10. Establishment of constitution or legal system superior to or parallel to the West Virginia Constitution and the West Virginia Code prohibited.

No person or group of persons may establish a constitution or legal system superior to or parallel to the West Virginia Constitution and the West Virginia Code. Any attempt do so is ineffectual and shall be punished as treason against the state, under §61-1-2 of this code.

 

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to prohibit the establishment of a constitution or legal system superior or parallel to the West Virginia Constitution and the West Virginia Code.
