A BILL to amend article sixteen, chapter five of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section seven-c, relating to the waiver of public employees insurance premiums for participants who exclusively purchase maintenance drugs through the veterans administration and not through the public employees insurance program.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article sixteen, chapter five of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section seven-c, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 16. WEST VIRGINIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES INSURANCE ACT.
§5-16-7c. Waiver of premiums for purchasing maintenance drugs through the veterans administration.

Notwithstanding any other provisions of this article, any person who is a public employees insurance act participant and purchases maintenance drugs through the veterans administration, and not through the public employees insurance act program, shall have his or her public employees insurance act premiums waived: Provided, That the public employees insurance act participant
exclusively purchases his or her maintenance drugs through the veterans administration.



NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to waive PEIA premiums for participants that exclusively purchase maintenance drugs through the Veterans Administration and not PEIA.
