A BILL to amend article four, chapter twenty of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated section six-a,
relating to requiring the department of agriculture to provide
warning signs upon request by a horseman.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article four, chapter twenty of the code of West
Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be
amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section six-a,
to read as follows:
ARTICLE 4. EQUESTRIAN ACTIVITIES RESPONSIBILITY ACT.
§20-4-6a. Requiring the department of agriculture furnish
equestrian activities warning signs to horsemen, upon request.
Upon request, the department of agriculture shall provide
signs to horsemen which set forth a warning that equestrian
activities are inherently hazardous, and briefly summarizing or
referring to the duties of participants, as set forth in section
four of this article. The signs shall be designed and constructed
so as to be sturdy enough and large enough to be displayed at the
horsemen's barn, stable, horse show, exhibition or other place of
equestrian business.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require that the
department of agriculture furnish warning signs for display by
horsemen.
