A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §18-4-13; and to
amend said code by adding thereto a new section, designated
§18-5-46, all relating to prohibiting discrimination by a
County School Superintendent or school board members against
an applicant for appointment, job placement or advancement on
the basis of the applicant's service in the Legislature.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §18-4-13; and that said
code be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated
§18-5-46, all to read as follows:
ARTICLE 4. COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS.
§18-4-13. Discrimination on basis of legislative service
prohibited.
A duly appointed superintendent may not discriminate against
any applicant for appointment, job placement or advancement on the
basis of the applicant's service in the Legislature.
ARTICLE 5. COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION.
§18-5-46. Discrimination on basis of legislative service
prohibited.
A duly elected board member may not discriminate against any
applicant for appointment, job placement or advancement on the
basis of the applicant's service in the Legislature.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to prohibit discrimination
by a county school superintendent or school board member in the
appointment, job placement or advancement of any applicant on the
basis of that applicant's service in the Legislature.
