A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §18-5-15e, relating to requiring schools to offer elective vocational courses in middle schools.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:


ARTICLE 5. COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION.


§18-5-15e. Elective vocational courses for middle schools.

County boards of education shall provide elective vocational courses for middle schools by the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year.  The courses provided shall follow rules to be developed by the State Board of Education and may include such courses as home economics, industrial arts and agricultural.

 

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require schools to offer elective vocational courses in middle schools.
