A BILL to extend the time for the Board of Education of Preston
County to meet as a levying body for the purpose of presenting
the voters an election to enact a special levy to provide
school funding.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
PRESTON COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD.
§1. Extension of time for Preston County School Board to meet as
levying body to present special levy for school funding.
Notwithstanding the provisions of article eight, chapter seven
of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one,
as amended, to the contrary the Board of Education of Preston
County is hereby authorized to extend the time for its meeting as
a levying body and certifying its actions to the State Auditor from
between the seventh and twenty-eighth days of March and the third
Tuesday in April until the second day of May, two thousand five, or until the ninth day of May, two thousand five, if a recount of
ballots is required, for the purpose of submitting to the voters of
the County of Preston the enactment of a Special Levy.
NOTE: The Purpose of this bill is to extend the time for the
Preston County Board of Education to meet as a levying body for the
purpose of presenting a special levy election for the voters in the
county.
