A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §5A-7-4b, relating to establishing a toll-free phone line for receipt of comments from the public about state programs and services which will be reported online for all to see and review.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §5A-7-4b, to read as follows:

ARTICLE 7. INFORMATION SERVICES AND COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION.

§5A-7-4b. Toll free line established; purposes; dissemination of information.

(a) The division shall establish a toll-free telephone line within the department for public or anonymous suggestions and input on state services, programs, costs and benefits or other state related matters.

(b) All information acquired under the provisions of subsection (a) of this section shall be collected and organized by the department of administration by service topics and be made available online to the public and for the agencies of government and general public to monitor the performance of these agencies and all state government programs.

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to establish a toll-free phone line for receipt of comments from the public about state programs and services which will be reported online for all to see and review.
