A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia,1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §18-2-7d, relating to requiring cursive writing to be taught in grades K-5.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:


ARTICLE 2. STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION.


§18-2-7d. Cursive writing to be a required course.

(a) The state Board of Education shall require all schools to teach cursive writing in grades K-5.

(b) this section shall be known as the “Woody Williams Writing Act.”

 

NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require cursive writing to be taught in grades K-5.
