A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §17-2A-24, relating to providing a one-time salary increase of $1,500 for any Department of Highways employee with a salary less than $50,000.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

            That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §17-2A-24, to read as follows:

ARTICLE 2A. WEST VIRGINIA COMMISSIONER OF HIGHWAYS.

§17-2A-24. One-time salary increase for employees.

            Effective July 1, 2015, all current Department of Highways employees who earn a salary of $50,000 a year shall receive a one-time, across-the-board salary increase of $1,500.

            NOTE: This purpose of this bill is to give a $1,500 salary increase to Department of Highways employees who earn less than $50,000 a year.

            This section is new; therefore, it has been completely underscored.
