A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
adding thereto a new section, designated §4-2A-2a, relating to
permitting a member of the Legislature to decline all or any
portion of his or her compensation.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
by adding thereto a new section, designated §4-2A-2a, to read as
follows:
ARTICLE 2A. COMPENSATION FOR AND EXPENSES OF MEMBERS OF THE
LEGISLATURE.
§4-2A-2a. Compensation may be declined.
Notwithstanding any provision in this code to the contrary,
any member of the Legislature may decline all, or any portion of
his or her compensation received, or to be received, for services
as a member.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to permit a member of the
Legislature to decline all or any portion of his or her
compensation.
