A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §25-1-23, relating to the construction of a new one thousand two hundred-bed correctional facility by the Division of Corrections.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

    That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §25-1-23, to read as follows:

ARTICLE 1. ORGANIZATION, INSTITUTIONS AND CORRECTIONS MANAGEMENT.

§25-1-23. Division of Corrections authorized to construct a correctional facility.

    It is the intent of the Legislature to expedite the siting of, acquisition of land for, and construction of, a one thousand two hundred cell state correctional facility to be operated by the Division of Corrections.




    NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to expedite the construction of a new one thousand two hundred bed correctional facility by the Division of Corrections.


    §25-1-23 is new; therefore, strike-throughs and underscoring have been omitted.
