ONE HUNDRED NINTH DAY

The House of Delegates met at 9:00 a.m., and was called to order by the Honorable Richard Thompson, Speaker.
Prayer was offered and the House was led in recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
The roll being called (Roll No. 532), and 66 members having answered to their names, the Speaker declared the presence of a quorum.
The Clerk proceeded to read the Journal of Friday, May 29, 2009, being the first order of business, when the further reading thereof was dispensed with and the same approved.
Messages from the Senate

A message from the Senate, by
The Clerk of the Senate, announced concurrence in the amendment of the House of Delegates to the Senate title amendment, and the passage, as amended, as a result of the objection of the Governor, of
Enr. Com. Sub. for S. B. 501, Prohibiting animal gas chamber euthanasia.
Conference Committee Report Availability

At 9:03 a.m., the Clerk announced the availability in his office of the report of the Committee of Conference on Com. Sub. for H. B. 2010.
Leaves of Absence

At the request of Delegate Boggs, and by unanimous consent, leaves of absence for the day were granted Delegates Beach, Campbell, Cann, Doyle, Ellem, Fleischauer, Hartman, Hunt, Hutchins, Iaquinta, Lane, Longstreth, Manchin, Manypenny, McGeehan, Michael, Miley, Morgan, Schadler, Shook, Susman, Tabb, Webster and Wooton.
Miscellaneous Business

Delegate Butcher announced that he was absent on May 28, 2009, when the votes were taken on Roll Nos. 525 through 530, and had he been present he would have voted "Nay" on Roll No. 525 and "Yea" on Roll Nos. 526 through 530.
Delegate Perdue announced that he was absent on May 29, 2009, when the vote was taken on Roll No. 531, and had he been present he would have voted "Yea" thereon.
At the request of Delegate Mahan, and by unanimous consent, the remarks of Delegate White regarding the Speaker's visit to Gilbert High School were ordered printed in the Appendix to the Journal.
At 9:09 a.m., the House of Delegates adjourned until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2009.
