Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

The Environmental Good Samaritan Law provides protections from liability for landowners and individuals that participate in eligible land reclamation or water pollution abatement projects. There is no impact on costs and revenues of state government. To the extent that DEP staff participate and carry out obligations under the act, the existing federal funding structure of the Office of Abandoned Mine Lands covers these activities.
