Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This Bill would add one circuit judge to the 23rd Judicial Circuit (Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan Counties). A secretary and court reporter would be necessary staff additions. Assignment of a law clerk and probation officer is not certain. We have, however, calculated costs assuming that all positions would be filled as of July 1, 2005, notwithstanding that the Bill itself does not address the effective date.
