A Bill to amend and reenact Chapter 20-7-1a and 20-7-1c of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, all relating to providing an increase in compensation for natural resources police officers. FUNDING IS REQUESTED TO BE FROM GENERAL REVENUE Listed below are estimates for Salary and Employee Benefits funding increase amounts required for FY 2016 in excess of the current FY 2015 amount if legislation is passed. Estimates are based upon current staffing levels. FY 2016 Salaries Increased Per Year $484,728.00 Employee Benefits @ 42.327% 205,170.82 Total Salary Increase FY 2016 $689,898.82 Longevity Increase Per Year $310,400.00 Employee Benefits @ 42.327% 131,383.01 Total Longevity Increase FY 2016 $441,783.01 Total Salary and Longevity FY 2016 $1,131,681.83 Listed below are estimates for Salary and Employee Benefits funding increase amounts required for FY 2017 in excess of the current FY 2015 amount if legislation is passed. Estimates are based upon current staffing levels. FY 2017 Salaries Increase Per Year $518,388.00 Employee Benefits @ 42.327% 219,418.09 Total Salary Increase FY 2017 $737,806.09 Longevity Increase Per Year $634.600.00 Employee Benefits @ 42.327% 268.607.14 Total Longevity Increase FY 2017 $903.207.14 Total Salary and Longevity FY 2017 $1,641,013.23 Annual additional costs over and above the current Fiscal Year 2015 if this legislation is passed are as follows: FY2016 $1,131,681.83 FY2017 $1,641,013.23 Additional annual appropriation of longevity costs would be necessary because increases in longevity pay continue as officers attain additional year of service.
