Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to provide that any person with a West Virginia driver’s license or an official identification card is automatically registered to vote, with no party identification.
It is estimated that programming would take approximately two weeks to support the purpose of this legislation. The Office of Technology currently charges eighty-five dollars an hour; this amount is used for the calculation for the DOT programming staff. This would amount to an approximate cost of $6,800.
