Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The provisions of the proposed legislation would require all local elections held beginning July 1, 2017 to be held concurrently with otherwise scheduled General, Primary or State-wide elections. As a result, potential cost savings would be realized by the various counties and municipalities of the State because election costs overall would be reduced. However, there is insufficient data available to the State Auditor concerning the accumulation of those costs which will be avoided by the enactment of the proposed legislation.
