Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to require local public health departments to be accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board within five years.
The Department anticipates no fiscal impact based on this legislation. Per the bill no state funds may be provided to a non-accredited local public health department beginning July 1, 2023. Therefore, state expenditures from the State Aid appropriation may be reduced beginning SFY2024 for any local boards of health not accredited.
