Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

The purpose of this bill is to provide a waiver of occupational fees and fees from licensing requirements for certain low-income individuals, military families, and young workers. The Department has approximately 16,498 active certifications and licenses within the Office of Environmental Health Services, Office of Emergency Medical Services & Office of Laboratory Services, all of which do not currently collect information from applicants regarding age, income, or military status. Without having this information, the Department cannot reasonably estimate the amount of special revenue the Bureau will lose annually should this proposed legislation pass. However, any reduction of revenue will have a negative impact on services provided by programs.
