Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The stated purpose of this bill is to permit retail sales of alcoholic beverages after 1 p.m. on Sundays.
According to our interpretation, the proposed bill would allow sales of liquor from licensed retail liquor outlets after 1PM on Sundays. Based on our understanding, this bill would result in a negligible effect on revenue from such purchases. While the bill may allow additional flexibility in timing of purchase, it is unlikely to alter consumption behaviors.
There would be no additional administrative costs incurred by the State Tax Department.
