The West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation cannot predict how many offenders may be sentenced to our custody as a result of this legislation. However, for each offender who is sentenced, the State of West Virginia can expect an additional cost of $25,879 per year they are incarcerated (average annual cost per offender in FY2018).
