Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
The State Auditor’s Office does not maintain or have access to informational data maintained by the Public Service Commission of West Virginia regarding the number of valid retail commercial mobile radio service subscriptions in West Virginia which would be subject to the $3.47 monthly wireless enhanced 911 fee and the proposed $0.39 monthly public safety wireless fee. Accordingly, we are unable to accurately assess the likely financial impacts of the proposed legislation.
Memorandum
The State Auditor’s Office would recommend the submission of a Fiscal Note Request to the Public Service Commission of West Virginia acting in its capacity as the most likely repository for the information needed to accurately assess the financial impact of this proposed legislation.
