Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to make the investigation and enforcement of the Patient Brokering Act the primary responsibility of the Office of Health Facility Licensure and Certification ("OHFLAC").
Due to a low number of these types of complaints, the Department anticipates duties can be accomplished with current staff and resources. There is already a tool that facilitates/tracks public complaints that could also be used to track patient brokering complaints.
