Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
AMENDED FROM PREVIOUS SUBMISSION.
This bill proposes to remove the authority of the director of the Purchasing Division to establish an annual fee required by vendors doing business with the state. Currently, that fee is set at $125 but only vendors awarded a contract must pay the fee; there is no fee to submit a bid. During Fiscal Year 2023, a total of 3,345 registrations were paid for by vendors, generating a total of $418,125.00 for the Purchasing Division through this special fund, which is used to pay for salaries, rent, etc. A vendor account is required in wvOASIS for contracts to be issued.
