This proposed legislation requires the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) to develop a pilot program to provide mental and behavioral health services as an alternative to suspending students for disruptive behaviors. In its current form, this legislation does not have any fiscal impact on the WVDE because the program can be designed, implemented, and monitored utilizing existing staff.
