Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to require insurance providers to provide diagnostic and supplemental breast examinations without cost sharing. This bill will remove any cost sharing requirements from members receiving breast exams that are medically necessary and clinically appropriate per professional guidelines. Based on recent plan year claim experience, assuming a 10% increase in covered claims, PEIA estimates an increase in costs of $1 million.
