Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
Summarize in a clear and concise manner what impact this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This legislation establishes a geographic assignment compensation differential for the West Virginia State Police. The fiscal impact cannot be determined at this time; however, we do expect there to be increases in salary and benefits, as the geographic zones and the amount of the compensation differential have not yet been specified.
The State Police would also anticipate additional administrative expenses for the State Budget Office based on its responsibility under this bill to designate and calculate differential pay scales. The State Budget Office would be in a better position to calculate that administrative cost.
