This bill permits DOH to utilize the Construction Manager/General Contractor procurement method and does not have a direct fiscal impact on the agency. Approximately 30 states utilize CM/GC or a similar method in certain contract procurement and no additional cost has been identified. In some situations, cost savings have been identified and are anticipated by DOH. The DOH expects this method to increase efficiency in contract procurement, potentially leading to a reduction in overall project costs.
