Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to clarify the requirements needed before approving production of Type G Special PLates. This bill reduces the required number of applicants from 100 to 50 plates.
Expenses to implement the Type G Special Plate will consist of cash register programming of $1,875 (15 hours x $125 per hour). In addition, registration plates will cost the Division $7.25 per plate. If 50 new plates are issued, plate cost will be $362.50 ( $7.25 plate charge X 50 plates)
In the first year reduced revenue of $800 (50 X $16 plate charge) would be generated. The Division estimates this bill might allow more new plates to be issued since the guarantee number of applicants is being lowered.
