Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.


SB1053 will create no additional revenue for WorkForce WV or the State. This bill takes an existing revenue source, the State Unemployment Tax (SUTA), and puts 7% of the SUTA tax into a new fund. Expenses from the fund will be used for existing administrative costs while incurring new expenses to upgrade technology for the unemployment compensation and job search systems.
