Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
The cost of a 3,465 square foot Detachment in 2003 was $534,000. This did not include the purchase of land, furniture, utilities,a radio tower or the costs associated with additional office staff.
Currently there are three counties without a State Police Detachment (Calhoun, Wetzel, and Wirt). The construction (only) cost of three detachments would be approximately $1,602,000 based on 2003 pricing.
