Memorandum
The agency already has a mechanism in place for inmates to request birth certificate and Social Security Cards. We currently have a MOU with the Social Security Administration and after information gathering from the inmate we attempt to request Birth Certificates. At times the SS Administration denies request because of multiple SS# assigned to Offender and or other alias's' We do our best with the information given at times to get Birth Certificates when offices of vital statistics can locate birth records.
