Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to allow persons with medical conditions, including autism, to have this displayed upon his or her driver’s license or permit for the purpose of allowing the officer to identify that individual as having that condition or conditions.
The Division estimates that programming costs to implement this bill will total $38,400. This consists of mainframe programming for the Drivers’ License of $14,400 (160 hrs. x $90/hr.), and programming for the vendor supplied Drivers’ License system of $24,000 (160 hrs. x $150/hr.).
