Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The Secretary of State does not purchase voting equipment. The State's 55 counties will bear the costs of purchasing the equipment. While the origin of each of the numerous parts and components of all voting equipment owned and used by the counties is unknown at this time, a full statewide replacement of all voting equipment is estimated at $25 million (approx. $15,000 per precinct for 2 ballot marking devices on average and 1 ballot tabulator x approx. 1,650 precincts in the state).
