Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
The purpose of this bill is to increase certain criminal penalties for unlawful use of designated accessible parking spaces for mobility impaired persons and unlawful creation and use of special plates or placards issued to mobility impaired persons and establishing a program to increase public awareness for unlawful use of designated accessible parking spaces for mobility impaired persons and unlawful creation and use of special plates or placards issued to mobility impaired persons.
The division anticipates using existing sources such as press releases, the division website, and social media outlets to increase public awareness of the applicable law and the consequences of not following its requirements. The division does not anticipate that this amendment will have any financial impact on operations.
