Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
Costs of publishing legal advertisements in a qualified newspaper in each county are highly variable depending on the size of the advertisement, which is dictated by the language of the final version of the resolution.
In 2022, the Secretary of State paid $17,724.97 for four (4) constitutional amendment legal advertisements. The size of those advertisements spanned a portion of a single legal advertisement page in a standard size bi-fold newspaper. The figure above assumes a high-end rough estimate of the cost of the size of a single proposed amendment as it is currently written.
