Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
House bill 2484, if enacted, would require that the closure or transfer of any publicly funded higher education institution be preapproved by the Legislative Oversight Commission on Education Accountability (LOCEA). It would also require both an economic and educational study to be presented to the LOCEA before the institution could be closed or transferred.
The enactment of this bill would not require additional funding from State appropriations.
