Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

Summarize in a clear and concise manner what impact this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government. This proposed piece of legislation increases the application fee for resident concealed weapon permits. This increase is to be retained by the sheriff’s office of the applicant’s county and has no fiscal impact on the West Virginia State Police. HB327 would also provide exemption to veterans of the reserve and National Guard from paying a fee for the permit. The West Virginia State Police cannot provide an estimate of a fiscal impact for these exemptions as those applicant statistics are not recorded or kept by this agency.
