Please explain increases and decreases in personal services, current expenses, repairs and alterations, assets, other costs and revenues, including assumptions and data sources and delineation between start-up and ongoing costs. Please also include a long-range schedule of costs and revenues if fiscal impact is expected to vary in future years.
An estimated total cost of $600,000 annually, to fully implement initiatives outlined in this bill. A breakdown is below:
- Approx. 1,200 Governors Workforce Credential (GWC) recipients at $250 per student = $300,000
- Development of training/administering professional learning for 1 teacher at 150 middle schools across state = $100,00
- Expansion of current data system and training for tracking middle school STEP program participants = $200,000

WVDE is currently implementing these initiatives in some fashion. For example: GWC has been ongoing since 2016, the CTE Middle School "Discover Your Future" program will be fully implemented in the 2022-2023 school year, and the Classroom 2 Career Navigator website was launched as part of the Students' Right to Know Act of 2020.
