Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This will only clarify the Commissioners ability to authorize the use of Court fee revenue to be used for Maintenance and repairs in the Regional Jails. The funds were previously used to pay off the Jail Bond debt. As of June 2021 those bond debts were paid in full.

Memorandum
This Bill authorizes the Commissioner to assign Court Fee Revenue to be used for repairs and maintenance of the regional jails.
Currently the Regional Jails has over $90 million in unfunded deferred maintenance and this will allow DCR to start to address some of those issues
