Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This bill currently directs the Department of Commerce to work closely with the Department of Tourism and Department of Economic Development to create a plan for an adventure travel program in the state, with a focus on creating programs that encourage federal funds for adventure travel initiatives.
To put together a plan with these special, federally-focused programs would require the hiring of a consultant, a FTE and additional research.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
Accounts for one planning consultant ($250,000) and an additional research study ($50,000) specific to adventure travel recreation. Adds one FTE at a salary of $45,000 plus $13,500 for employee benefits. In the first year adds $3,500 for computer, phone and miscellaneous equipment along with ongoing costs of $10,000 for supplies, travel, fees and other miscellaneous expenditures related to a position.
