Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
SB564 outlines an expansion of the mapping responsibilities of the WVDNR regarding the 72,038 acres in the eight State Forests. Under this bill, the WVDNR creates and maintains a web-based mapping tool with roads, conditions, and restrictions for use by full-size vehicles and off-highway vehicles, such as all-terrain vehicles, utility-terrain vehicles, motorcycles and off-road vehicles. After consultation with the West Virginia GIS Technical Center (WVGISTC), the WVDNR estimates this would result in an initial cost of $121,312 for implementation and an annual maintenance cost of $500.
