Fiscal Note Summary

Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.

Summarize in a clear and concise manner what impact this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government. SB609 allows Division of Highways (DOH) to obtain ownership of rented or leased equipment. At certain times, this will allow DOH to gain value out of monies expended in renting or leasing a piece of equipment for an extended period of time. The fiscal impact would be difficult to quantify on SB609.

Memorandum

Please identify any areas of vagueness, technical defects, reasons a bill would not have a fiscal impact, and/or any special issues not captured elsewhere on this form. SB 609 is NOT an "Equipment Buy Program". It is not intended to buy equipment. SB 609 may have value when rental companies voluntary relinquish the equipment that DOH has used and paid for the value of the equipment.
