Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.


Summarize in a clear and concise manner what impact this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government. The purpose of HB 4754 is to establish a new Workforce Improvement Partnership program within the Department of Economic Development to provide consultation services and grants related to employee training services to improve the competitiveness and productivity of the State’s workforce and develop advanced skills. The new program will be administered and directed by the Secretary of the Department of Economic Development, which is a department separate and distinct from the West Virginia Economic Development Authority. The legislation creates a new fund in the State Treasury to provide for employee training grants, such grants from the fund to be administered by the Secretary of the Department of Economic Development. HB 4754 will have no fiscal impact on the West Virginia Economic Development Authority.
