Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):


The production data for 2022 indicates that there were 74,586 unplugged wells, which would raise $7,458,600 per year. Passage of this bill would allow the Office of Oil and Gas to hire additionally needed staff to inspect and monitor these unplugged wells and also shore up the budget for the Office of Oil and Gas.
