Memorandum

If enacted, House Bill 2162 would seek to require the insurers of physicians who perform abortions to establish a separate insurance pool. HB2162 would have no fiscal impact on the operations, expenses or revenues of the Offices of the Insurance Commissioner. While the OIC does not foresee any fiscal impact to the agency, it would be difficult to regulate the provisions of HB2162 as we do not know how to determine who would be eligible for the newly created pool.
