Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This implementing the requirements established in this will require each county to work with their existing ID card vendor to have the suicide prevention hotline phone numbers printed on student identification cards. The WVDE believes that if there is any additional cost associated with including the suicide prevention hotline numbers would be minimal.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
County boards of education that provide student ID cards typically do so through arrangements with their student photo vendors with minimal or no additional cost for the ID cards because the vendor makes a profit from selling school pictures to parents and guardians. The addition of the hotline phone numbers should not generate additional cost if the schools are given ample time to include the stipulation into their vendor contracts.
