Fiscal Note Summary
Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This proposed legislation, in its current form, does not have any fiscal impact on WVDE; however, there may be an additional cost to county boards of education and/or schools resulting from the requirement that they must implement a nationally accepted nutrition and aerobic exercise program.

Explanation of above estimates (including long-range effect):
While a direct cost to the State is not expected from the provisions of this proposed legislation, the cost per county is estimated to be approximately $3,000 annually for the smallest county and up to $82,000 annually for the largest county. If this bill is considered for enactment, lawmakers may want to consider providing funding to assist counties with the additional costs.
