Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.
This proposed legislation, in its current form, does not have any fiscal impact on the WVDE; however, it will have fiscal impact on the county public school systems. Statewide, this legislation is expected to affect 18 schools in which county public school systems will be required to provide free meals to all students through the Community Eligibility Provision at an estimated cost of $737,000. Please note that when all meals are free at school, the meal participation is likely to increase which will reduce this cost over time as more students chose to participate in school meals.
